Agencies honor top workers at ceremony
NASHUA – The Partnership for Successful Living, a newly named collaboration of six local nonprofit agencies, recently held a staff appreciation awards ceremony followed by a Community Appreciation Open House.
The event, held at the Harbor Homes facility on High Street, brought together several hundred staff, community leaders, neighbors, and program consumers to celebrate a partnership between Harbor Homes, Greater Nashua Council on Alcoholism (Keystone Hall), Welcoming Light, Milford Regional Counseling Services, Healthy at Home and the Southern New Hampshire HIV/AIDS Task Force that helps individuals and their families working to triumph over some of life’s greatest challenges.
The awards ceremony provided an opportunity for staff from the partner agencies to meet with their counterparts and recognize those that go above and beyond the obligations of their positions.
“No one goes into social services for the money,” said Peter Kelleher, president and CEO of the Partnership for Successful Living. “These jobs are labors of love that allow individuals to make a huge difference in someone’s life. While all of our employees are valued, it is important to recognize those that exceed our expectations.”
The Adam C. Gureckis Award was presented to an employee at each agency who embodies the passion for helping the less fortunate of the former board member. Winners were Chris Gartland, functional support services worker at Harbor Homes; Kathy Rolfe, office manager for Milford Regional Counseling Services; Martha Coy, project manager and resident coordinator for Welcoming Light; Craig Steuerman, LPN at Healthy At Home; Joanne Bresnahan, director clinical services and administration for Keystone Hall; and Magaly Rios, case manager at the Southern New Hampshire HIV/AIDS Task Force.
Steve Dooley, a Harbor Homes program manager, was awarded the Mary Auer Spirit Award. The Bob and Betty Williams Volunteer Appreciation Award was received by longtime volunteer Cynthia Day of Keystone Hall. The Harbor Homes Inc. and Affiliates Board of Directors Appreciation Award was won by Robert Williams.
The open house featured the live music of David Milazzo and Michael Sink, two youth jazz musicians who donated their time and talent for the evening. Guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres and desserts thanks to the generosity of event sponsors Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, The Home Depot and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Additionally, the event provided an opportunity to celebrate the many personal successes that clients and the Partnership for Successful Living have achieved by collaborating services.
