A place for school
At least nine of Lyndeborough’s 12 known kindergarten-age students will attend the Early Learning Center in Milford this fall.
School Board members were prepared to sign a contract this week with the center for those nine students. The school district will pay $5,200 per student, not including transportation. The town is required by state law to pay for a half-day kindergarten program. Early Learning Center also offers a full-day program.
In early June, the School Board chose the Early Learning Center from among several options as a one-year measure to meet the requirement that kindergarten be offered. The board expects to offer more permanent options at the annual School District Meeting in March.
