2 stores, 2 clerks cited over tobacco sales

MERRIMACK – Two local businesses and two clerks were issued summonses Friday for allegedly selling tobacco to minors.

The state Liquor Commission issued summonses to Sam’s Quick Stop and the Reeds Ferry Market after Merrimack police and the liquor commission’s Bureau of Enforcement conducted a tobacco compliance check of 20 stores in town.

Both stores had summonses issued against their licenses while the two clerks, Tajinder Plaha, 25 of Jersey City, N.J., and Fred Holman, 45, of 7 Hillcrest Drive, Merrimack, were issued summonses for selling tobacco to minors.

They are scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on June 16.
