2 men accused of store robbery

MILFORD – A man wearing red pajama pants is accused of committing a robbery with an accomplice at a mattress store in Lorden Plaza on Labor Day.

At around 2:15 p.m., the two suspects entered Sleep-Ezzz at 614 Lorden Plaza, according to police. One of the suspects allegedly distracted the clerk while the other person committed a theft from the premises. The clerk noticed the theft and attempted to stop the individuals; the clerk received a minor injury, police said.

On Tuesday, Police Chief Fred Douglas declined to answer questions about what was stolen and how the clerk got injured because releasing the information could compromise the investigation, he said.

The first suspect was described as a white male, in his late teens to early 20s. He was described as being 5 inches 7 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a tan baseball cap and red pajama-style pants.

The second subject is described as a white male approximately the same height and age as the first subject and was wearing an unknown color baseball cap.
