Stonyfield Europe, the subsidiary of Londonderry-based Stonyfield Farm, has announced its latest initiative on the continent -- a line of organic yogurts under the auspices of the newly created Stonyfield France. “Les Deux Vaches des Fermiers du Bio” - The Two Cows of Organic Farmers -- is the name of the new locally developed French product line. “Because French consumers eat four times as much yogurt as Americans, we see this as an enormous opportunity to encourage and expand consumer demand for dairy from organic farms across the French countryside,” said Stonyfield founder Gary Hirshberg and managing director of Stonyfield Europe. “The European organic food market is growing rapidly, from 10 billion Euros ($12.8 billion) last year to an anticipated 25 billion Euros ($31.9 billion) annually by 2010.” - JEFF FEINGOLD Edit ModuleShow Tags
