Peterborough senior living project begins, Peabody & Smith expands rental services … and more

North Branch Construction Inc., Concord, has completed two projects at St. Paul’s School: expansion and renovation of the Coit Dining Hall and the partial renovation of the Ohrstrom Library.

Work on the Coit Dining Hall began in April and involved the creation of a new ADA-accessible entry and conversion of a sunken private dining room into new men’s, women’s, and unisex toilets. A computer lab at Ohrstrom Library was converted into the Center for Advanced Teaching and Learning.

 

Peabody & Smith Realty of Franconia has expanded its rental department to include additional services and an expanded market area that includes rentals in central New Hampshire and the Lakes Region. Stephanie Patrick of the firm’s Bretton Woods office has been promoted to vacation rental manager to over see the business.

 

Construction is underway on the new Scott-Farrar at Peterborough senior living community. The 6.7-acre site on in downtown Peterborough will feature 63 apartments and suites.

Major partners on the project include Northbridge Companies, a senior living development and management firm based in Burlington, Mass., architectural firm EGA of Newburyport, Mass., and MacMillin Construction of Keene. Mathewson Construction of Hancock is handling site work.

 

Among the winners of the recent sixth annual Rising Stars Awards presented by Stay Work Play was Chris Wellington, CEO of the Grafton County Economic Development Council, who was named Young Professional of the Year for his professional and community service accomplishments.

Prior to joining GCEDC in April, he worked for the NH Division of Economic Development as a business resource specialist.

 

Jerry Madden, executive director of The Friends Program and Concord’s former police chief, has been named chair of Concord Housing + Redevelopment’s Board of Commissioners. Violet M. Rounds, chief financial officer and vice president of administrative affairs for the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, has been appointed vice chair.

 

CATCH Neighborhood Housing Inc., Concord, was recently granted $2,500 through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston’s Grants for New England Partnerships program on behalf of Merrimack County Savings Bank.

Under the program, eligible members choose a nonprofit organization to receive the award. The Merrimack became eligible through its sustained participation in the FHLB of Boston’s Affordable Housing Program and Equity Builder Program.

 

The John Flatley Company has negotiated two leases, totaling 11,500 square feet, at Bedford Springs Office Park. Lessees are Paychex Inc., a provider of payroll, human resources and benefits outsourcing solutions, which signed a lease for 8,000-square feet. PistolStar Inc., which signed a lease for 3,500 square feet, specializes in in authentication software.

Both transactions were negotiated by James Tobin of the John Flatley Company.

 

Charlotte A.C. Bouvier has joined the staff of Hoyle, Tanner & Associates as senior structural engineer/project manager. She works out of the firm’s Portsmouth office.

A registered professional engineer in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont and five other states, as well as in Nova Scotia, she currently serves as co-chair of Women in Design, a subcommittee of the Boston Society of Architects.
