‘Storytelling’ for nonprofits

Telling a story - not just showing stats and charts -- is one of the best ways a nonprofit can make a pitch for corporate largesse. That’s the theme of “Storytelling as Best Practice,” a conference sponsored by the organization Continuing Education in Fund Raising, to be held March 28 at CR Sparks in Bedford. Andy Goodman, principal of a Los Angeles-based communications firm, will be the keynote speaker. The session also will feature a panel discussion focusing on the softer side of corporate giving, featuring Thomas O’Rourke, director of pubic affairs at Fidelity Investments, Kelly Gelinas, assistant vice president and community relations manager at TD Banknorth, Kathleen Reardon, vice president of public affairs and community relations at Citizens Bank, and Nury Marquez of Service of New Hampshire.
