Keene business launches Boomer Web site

A Keene-based firm has launched a Web site it says is designed specifically for Baby Boomers. UrbanBoomer Inc.’s UrbanBoomer.com, offers members of the 40-and-up crowd their own online magazine and a fully integrated Internet community, providing them the opportunity to celebrate the important things in their lives without contending with the nostalgia often associated with reaching certain age milestones. “We’re making a conscious effort to avoid the stereotypical idea that Baby Boomers are aging, nostalgia-driven consumers,” said UrbanBoomer President Bill Hurley. “We’re approaching the Baby Boomers as a liberal, vital and forward-thinking demographic that initiated many of the modern world changing events.” A click of the mouse grants site visitors access to feature stories on everything from travel and art to movies, food and finance. Its online community offers members the chance to create a personal profile, interact with other Boomers, and create personalized music play lists. By visiting “Creative Space,” Boomers can even create their own business profile or online gallery using a variety of available media sources including video, audio and photos. “Creative Space allows a photographer, artist, musician, writer or craftsman to create a business profile and upload a complete gallery that can be viewed by millions of people,” Hurley said. UrbanBoomer Inc. is staffed by education, art, business, computer technology and entertainment professionals. - TRACIE STONE
