Wilton man accused of threats to motorist
MERRIMACK - A Wilton man has been charged with threatening another man with a pitchfork during a road rage incident last week, Merrimack police said. Charles D. Yandell, 47, of 15 Pine Valley St., turned himself in to police Sunday after a warrant was issued for his arrest, a press release said. On the afternoon of Aug. 6, a driver, who was not named in the release, reported traveling east on Route 101A in the far right lane. He then signaled and changed lanes in front of a red pickup truck, police said. The driver then stopped at the traffic light near Continental Boulevard when Yandell pulled up beside him, got out of his truck, retrieved a “pitchfork-type garden tool” from the bed of the vehicle and proceeded to threaten the other driver and damaged his truck, police said. The alleged victim called police, who arrived after Yandell had left, police said. After he turned himself in, Yandell was charged with criminal threatening and criminal mischief. He was placed on $3,000 personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on Sept. 8.
