Three teens assaulted a man who confronted them as they were breaking into his car, and one was armed with brass knuckles, police said Thursday morning. Michael Pavlas, 17, of 18 Laton St., Melvin Reyes, 18, of 12 Cross St., and a 16-year-old boy were arrested at around 2:15 a.m. Thursday, police said. Police claim the three youths were breaking into a vehicle on Harbor Avenue around 1 a.m., and when the owner came out to confront them, they attacked him. The owner was treated for minor injuries, and police found the youths in the area nearby. The victim was able to identify them, police said. Pavlas faces misdemeanor charges of simple assault, receiving stolen property, attempted theft, and possession of a dangerous weapon, while Reyes is charged with simple assault. The 16-year-old is charged as a juvenile with first-degree assault, as police allege that the younger teen used the brass knuckles during the attack, although Pavlas had them at the time of their arrest. The youths were expected to be arraigned in Nashua District Court.
