A Lyndeborough man is accused of writing rotten checks in Nashua, police report.
Stephen Elliott, 27, 139 Forrest Road, was arrested late Monday morning on a warrant charging him with three felony counts of forgery, a Class B felony, police report.
Detectives learned through an investigation that Elliott had taken personal checks from someone he knew and later cashed them at a downtown bank, police said.
Elliott is being held at the Hillsborough County Dept. of Corrections on $3,500 personal recognizance bail pending his arraignment at Nashua District court, police said.
The felony charge is punishable by up to seven years in prison plus fines, police said.
