The Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center, with the support of Southern New Hampshire University, will host its first annual "Seeds of Hope" fashion show to raise funds for patient services and cancer research at Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC).

The event will be held on April 19 at the Southern New Hampshire University Event Center and showcase outfits and designs from three unique Manchester clothiers: Statement A Shop Estella Boutique, K-Fab's Boutique and George’s Apparel.

Dozens of volunteer models, including current Dartmouth-Hitchcock cancer patients and survivors, will strut their stuff on the catwalk and show off stunning pieces of fashion in a fun and festive evening.

“It started with our staff and patients looking to celebrate life with an event for everyone to enjoy. The Seeds of Hope Fashion Fundraiser will usher in Spring, celebrate beauty in all shapes and sizes and raise money for much needed research and patient services,” according to Christine Telge, southern coordinator for the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and feature cocktails, food elegantly prepared by local restaurateurs, a silent and live auction and live music performed by Alli Beaudry. Tyler and Lauren Sullivan, from Paul Mitchell Northern New England, will serve as the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies.

Norris Cotton Cancer Center has 17 locations throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. This nationally recognized cancer facility combines advanced cancer research at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth with patient-centered cancer care at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. NCCC is one of only 41 Comprehensive Cancer Centers as designated by the National Cancer Institute.

“No insurance company reimburses for wigs or massage therapy or pays for a support group leader, even though we know how important these things can be for a patient or their caregiver. Events like 'Seeds of Hope' make a huge difference in the daily lives of our patients,” says Mark Israel, MD, director of NCCC.

Tickets for the fashion fundraiser cost $50 per person and can be purchased at the following locations: Statement A Shop Estella, K-Fab's Boutique, Chill Spa; Milly’s Tavern; or on the web at Individuals or businesses interested in becoming an event sponsor or donating items for the silent auction, may contact Christine Telge at 603-703-6955 for more information.
