The Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Harley Sanford Post 4368 Lodge of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Milford are holding a “Party With A Purpose” to benefit the Chaplain’s Emergency Relief Fund on Wednesday, March 12, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Milford VFW. A preview of items to be auctioned at the Chamber’s upcoming Veteran’s Benefit Auction on April 11 will be available.
The Chaplain’s Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) provides quick, temporary financial help for military members and their families who are facing unexpected financial needs. Managed by volunteer trustees, who are military chaplains from various branches, CERF was created in 1990 as a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt entity registered with the IRS. Its express purpose is to assist military families with emergency financial needs – the fund is supported solely by donations and 100 percent of donations are distributed to those in need.
All are welcome to attend. The party will include food, raffles, and a cash bar. $10 per person. The VFW is located on Route 13 North in Milford, across from the Souhegan Valley Boys & Girls Club.
