LakeFest: Hands Across the Water

Sep 7, 2013
07:00 AM until 04:00 PM

New Hampshire Lakes Association, Inc. (NH LAKES) invites you to LakeFest2013:  Hands Across the Water!  Help prevent the spread of aquatic nuisance plants and animals and be part of our attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest canoe and kayak raft on a single body of water!

Bring your clean, drained, and dry canoe or kayak to Weirs Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee (and your friends, family, and colleagues with their canoes and kayaks too) where all will launch to form a giant flotilla. The goal: at least 2,000 craft! during our record attempt, we will extend our hands across the water and join them while free floating for 30 seconds. An official aerial photographer will fly overhead to document our attempt.

Join us afterwards as we celebrate in the City of Laconia's Endicott Park.

Participants are encouraged to establish a team to meet the challenge of putting the most boats on the water in one of these categories:

  • The Corporate/Business Challenge
  • The Local Lake, Pond or Watershed Associations Challenge
  • The Paddling Association Challenge
  • The Lakes Enthusiasts Challenge (for those groups not fitting into one of the other categories)
