Adult Maker Nights: Tech Play

May 8, 2014
07:00 PM until 08:30 PM

As the host of New Hampshire’s only Maker Faire, the Children’s Museum of NH has a keen interest in the “maker movement” that’s been sweeping the country during the past decade. The Museum regularly offers programs and workshops that give kids hands-on experiences with tools and materials, but now adults ages 18 and over can get in on the action, too.

Starting in February, the Children’s Museum of NH is hosting a monthly series of Adult Maker Nights to give grown-ups the chance to try new projects and learn newskills related to art, electronics and technology. Each session will be led by a local maker and no prior experience is needed. There is a participant fee of $10 per night, plus a materials fee that will be specified for each workshop. The Museum will provide water and soda, and participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks to share.

All workshops will be held at the Children’s Museum of NH at 6 Washington Street in Dover.

You’ve heard about these high-tech toys – now come and see them in action. From squishy circuits and MaKey MaKey to 3-D printers and other gadgets, we’ll demo them all and give attendees a chance to experiment with them. Participants are welcome to bring their own cool projects, too. No materials fee.
