A Hudson man purposely tipped his scooter Monday to avoid a crash with a Ford F-350 pickup that was towing a trailer. Peter Henrikson, 58, of 9B Doveton Lane, slid across the roadway but managed to avoid a collision, a statement from Merrimack police said. His injuries were not life threatening, police said. Henrikson was driving his 2007 Honda scooter north on the Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack around 3 p.m. when he attempted to pass the truck, not realizing it was turning right, according to police. He tipped the scooter after trying unsuccessfully to stop, police said. The truck's driver was Robert Gelinas, 28, of Manchester. Edit ModuleShow Tags
