Man threatens two with handgun
An Allenstown man was arrested on gun and drug charges early Saturday morning after he allegedly threatened several people at the Laton House apartment building, police reported. Davin McDowell, 23, of 16 Townhouse Road, was held after his arrest at the scene and remained jailed after being arraigned Monday in Nashua District Court, unable to post $200,000 bail. McDowell faces felony charges, including two counts of reckless conduct, possession of cocaine, possession of crack cocaine and criminal threatening, police reported. Each of the charges carries a maximum of 3-1/2 to seven years in prison. A resident who saw a man walking while carrying a handgun called police to the building at 28 Railroad Square at about 2:24 a.m., according to a police report filed in court. McDowell came out of the building and was arrested without further incident, police reported. McDowell admitted to police that he'd gone into the building armed in order to confront a man whom he believed owed him money, police reported. He is accused of pointing his .40-caliber handgun at the two people, including the man's girlfriend, and threatening the man while holding the gun, police charge. It's not clear why McDowell felt the man owed him money. Police found small amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine on McDowell after his arrest.
