N.H. bankruptcies continue downward trend

The jobs outlook hasn't been great, but the good news is that bankruptcies in New Hampshire continue to lag behind last year's pace.Some 353 businesses and households filed for bankruptcy in August, some 70 fewer than in the same month a year before, though the number is about the same as those filed in July 2011, when there were 350 filings.Still, every month this year has been an improvement from last year's record pace.Five of the August filings were by businesses, two fewer than July.
