Woman picked up as fugitive
A Merrimack woman who police suspect of commiting serious crimes in Massachusetts was picked up as a fugitive in town Tuesday. Police stopped Desiree Iacobucci, 20, of 3 Swift Lane, in her car on Greeley Street at about 2:30 p.m., according to a press statement. While running a routine license and records check on an apparent inspection violation, Master Patrolman Robert Kelleher discovered Iacobucci is wanted on a warrant out of Lawrence District Court in Massachusetts. That court issued the warrant July 1 because Iacobucci is wanted on several assault and battery charges, and a larceny charge, all alleged to have occurred in the Methuen, Mass., area. Merrimack police then charged Iacobucci with being a fugitive from justice. She was released to the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections in Manchester and was scheduled for a court appearance Wednesday.
