Man faces charges after van crash
A Hudson man faces a felony assault charge stemming from a drunken-driving incident this fall, court records show. Scott Colby, 32, of 60½ Lowell Road, was indicted this week in Hillsborough County Superior Court on charges of second-degree assault, aggravated DWI, two counts of reckless conduct and two counts of witness tampering. Each of the charges is a felony, punishable by up to 3½ to seven years in prison. Colby allegedly was intoxicated and driving in Hudson on Sept. 11 when he got into an accident, the charges state. Three teenage girls were riding in the cargo area of his van at the time, and one was thrown inside the van and suffered a broken vertebra, the charges state. Colby is accused of urging two of the girls to lie to police about circumstances surrounding the incident.
