Green Launching Pad offers $500k in second round

Some $500,000 will be available in a second year of funding through the Green Launching Pad, a University of New Hampshire program designed to support emerging green energy businesses.Last year, 71 companies applied for funding in the first year of the program, with five New Hampshire companies selected to receive funding: Air Power Analytics of Bedford; EnerTrac Inc. of Hudson, Green Clean Heat LLC of Newton; INNOVACENE of Durham; and Revolution Energy of Dover.Grants for individual ventures will be based on the scope of the project; previous winners received as much as $60,000 in financial support.In addition to monetary awards, projects selected also receive accelerated business development support and professional, legal and management advice, networking with funders and supporting businesses, access to office and meeting spaces, and critical operating support from the university.The Green Launching Pad began earlier this year as a partnership of UNH and New Hampshire Office of Energy and Planning, with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy.An interview with A.R.
