We’re still open for business

To the editor: I am the victim of human error. It was recently reported that my dream and a part of my livelihood had closed. This is an untruth. I opened The Handbag Boutique at 178 Main St. in Nashua on Nov. 1, 2002. Due to my desire to expand merchandise lines, I gave a 30-day notice to my beloved customers, passed out 500+ “We’re Relocating” postcards at the Taste in June and moved my business across the street to 115 Main St. on July 1, 2007. I can speculate that the error was initiated by the fact that a dirty outline of my store sign at my previous location is still legible 10 months after my move. Surprising, as it had been immediately occupied after I left, by a presidential hopeful, and yet no fresh paint was applied. A new shop is opening soon. I imagine cleaning up the storefront will be top on their priority list. Just as Maria from The Sound of Music shouted, “The hills are alive,” I am shouting, “The Handbag Boutique is alive!” We are open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and occasional Friday evenings until 8 p.m., with complimentary refreshments while you shop. A quote suddenly comes to mind, “To err is human, to forgive is divine.” I have forgiven but will not soon forget. Not out of anger but from the daily damage control I field from e-mails, phone calls and passer-bys. Thank you to my neighbors, friends, loyal customers and fellow downtown merchants for all your support. I welcome new customers and look forward to sharing my love of accessories with you!
